I feel like I should start by acknowledging the obvious—yes, Still Downloading is now a monthly podcast. Between last week's late-night recording session and this month’s upcoming convo with AI artist Veronika Pell, Babe has officially vogued into the audiovisual era.
Oh, before I forget. As I continue to fine-tune Babe, I’ll be experimenting with adding/subtracting newsletter elements (hint: top web3 job listings of the week are below) and morphing certain sections.

Touch Grass: Bridging ETH in White Pants (5 takeaways from minting my First NFTs)
So I finally did it—minted my very first NFTs (via fashion.fun and OpenSea) with actual ETH that I bridged to Base like a grown-ass woman who supposedly knows what she's doing. Here's what I learned:
1. Bridging crypto feels like carrying hot coffee in white pants
Nobody prepared me for the existential crisis of watching your hard-earned crypto disappear from one chain with only the promise it would eventually materialize on another, but when it appeared a minute later, anxiety melted and it was game on.
2. Find your digital "gateway drug"
When I saw those gleaming digital BTC grillz from Tribute brand, something clicked: This was the perfect low-stakes, objectively cool entry point I needed to finally jump from theory to practice.
3. Drop timing strategy is legit
Setting a reminder to mint within the final 3 minutes actually worked—I won 33.33% of the pot and netted about .046 ETH (~$68 USD) after fees, and then thought to myself: mints one NFT, wins pot, sees herself doing this "as a career."
4. Base ETH > Mainnet for beginners
Base's mercifully low gas fees not only saved my wallet but gave me the confidence to immediately mint a second piece—Boris Anje's vibrant "Quantum of Solace" that blends magical realism with Warhol-like silkscreen techniques.

5. The first mint is the hardest, then the floodgates open
The whole experience was like drunk texting your ex and actually getting a good response—some initial "should I really do this?" jitters followed by the surprising realization that you're probably going to do it again.
No, it wasn't life-changing, but finally doing it after months of thinking about it? Sick.
